Related software (!CDRipEnc)

You may find my CD ripping and encoding application (!CDRipEnc) is of some interest. Although it has its own CD ripping routine, it is primarily a WIMP front end to allow the use of command line utilities such as CDParanoia, LAME, or Shine, and uses AcornCD to look up the CD details from freedb.

It enables you to do

  • CD to wav
  • wav to mp3
  • CD to mp3
  • mp3 to wav
Other encoding methods could be added if there was demand.

MP3s can be tagged automatically when encoded, using AcornCD to look up the details on Freedb, and has an editor to allow the CD details as looked up to be edited, or the mp3 details can be entered from scratch.

This application fully multitasks, making use of spawned taskwindow tasks as appropriate.

This application is best used on the Iyonix.

CD ripping with any software I have tried does not work on my A9Home (RISC OS 4.42 - flash2).

Some beta testers have used it on RiscPC (RISC OS 4.xx), although it is much slower than on an Iyonix.
